Cloudy Skies

The weather here in my neck of the woods (Southwestern Texas) has been rainy of late...which is good because we needed the rain. It's also good because I like grey, rainy days. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy sunny blue skies as well, but sometimes I like to take in a dark, rainy day. I like it a lot better if I have the day off, then I can sit and watch the rain for as long as I please...or read a book, or maybe watch a movie as the rain falls outside. I like when the house is dark, even with the blinds open in the daytime. I also got to walk home from work in the rain a couple of times this week....I don't mind getting wet as long as I'm going home. I remember years ago when I was walking home and it started to hail. I covered my eyes as the hail fell from above...I was wearing a tank top, so the hailstones left marks on my chest , arms, and shoulders where they hit me. That's not so much fun.

The sun gets all the good press, but I think the dark, rainy, grey day is vastly underrated.

I agree, and I think your current weather is going to hit us on Sunday. I likes it dark my damn self. Uh, the WEATHER, that is.

Heff,

LOL! Yeah, it rained hard early this morning (around 4 or 5 am), but it's overcast and humid as Hell right now.

Hey Scott,

As a former Texan, I can sympathize on the hail! I also LOVE cloudy skies -- sunshine is the devil! I'm going to paint my entire house the color I affectionately call Detroit gray if I can.

You are definitely a viking dude. Longing for the gray skies "beyond the Northern sea."

I agree, too. Particularly as someone who burns lobster-red in 10 minutes or less.

You are flexible and adapt yourself in every situation. Great and wonderful. To reach to your stage, you must have a broad perspective in looking at every thing. Everything has its own beauty, it very much depend on the viewer. Another word, everything is from our perception how you look at the thing. One thing I found common in both of us - many interests and hobbies. I do love writing as well.

Michelle,

'Detroit gray'...sounds cool!

Charles,

Indeed, my fiend, indeed. You know me too well!

Lana,

Sunscreen is my friend, LOL!

James,

Thank you, and thanks for stopping by...come back anytime!

Scott , there is something comforting about a rainy day. It sets the mood for a silent kind of mood for me.

Cherie,

Exactly!

If there's one thing better than taking the day off to read a book, it's having the rain pour down outside while you do it. I love hearing the rain and feeling snug and secure while outside it's miserable.

Shauna,

I second that idea! I love either eading or watching a movie when it's raining out, or just watching the rain.
